It’s easy to sign up for our full lawn program, and keep your lawn looking it’s best. When you sign up for the full lawn program, you will receive six turf treatments a year, and it will even improve the quality of your lawn.
You are a current customer if:
- We have serviced your yard this season
- You are on our mow route
- You are enrolled in our turf treatment program.
You will notice on some of our services pages that there are services we will only perform for our current customers or lawn care customers. Some of these include: mole or vole treatment, extra weed treatment, hauling small or medium fallen limbs and seasonal debris cleanup.
Why do lawns need to be aerated? Over periods of time, foot fall on your lawn compact the soil down – even mowing your lawn can takes its toll on your grass. The compact soil reduces the amount of soil pore spaces (water and air) that the grass requires to maintain strong and healthy roots. It is in these pore spaces that air and water circulate and help provide the plant with the necessary nutrients and air and water it requires to respire and grow. Aerating the lawn produces pore spaces where they have been compacted allowing the lawn to grow.
What are the benefits of seeding after aeration? Planting additional grass seed into your existing lawn is called over seeding. After aeration, over seeding is a great way to enhance your lawn. The newly sewn seeds can take advantage of the aeration process to more rapidly fill in bare spots and thicken existing turf. Grasses have compact, fibrous root systems that do an exceptional job of binding together. So, a densely planted, over-seeded lawn ensures soil and water stay where you want them to, right at the root zone, reducing run-off and soil loss. This ultimately improves the overall health of your lawn because it can hold onto nutrients and moisture needed to thrive. If a thick carpet of lawn is what you’re after, over seeding can do this too.
